At the start there is a popular vantage point with panoramic views stretching tremendous distances. On this moderate walk rolling countryside borders the path to Lough Corry.
The Lough is nestled in the Doon Forest and surrounded by alder trees.Further on is the pleasant lake Eschcleagh Lough, and the following road has grass verges bordered by forestry and in some areas moorland and heather. At the end of the route is a hilltop and thesplendid view over the eastern plains opens up before you once more.
Note that in July bilberries on route will be ripe and ready for picking; and stone from quarries in the area was used to build Castle Crom and the Cathedral at Armagh.
